IndyCar Watkins Glen TV Rating

UPDATE The Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen, which aired starting at 1 p.m. Sunday, registered a final 0.87 Nielsen rating nationally, meaning just more than 1 million TV households tuned in. The national rating beat other ABC IRL races at Milwaukee (May 31), which was 0.6, and Iowa (June 21), which was 0.8, indicating IRL fans are beginning to prefer road racing, probably because they now recognize road races put driver talent at a premium.

07/06/09 The overnight TV Rating for the IndyCar Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen on ABC Sunday earned a 0.9 overnight rating, despite being up against Wimbledon. This is better than most of the IRL's oval track ratings (NASCAR rules the oval track market in America), and it dwarfs the IRL's Versus ratings.
