Jaguar XJ revealed

Just hours before the official release of the new Jaguar XJ, US internet sites did the usual task of spoiling the surprise with the photos below. The new car gives off a very similar resemblance to the XF in front but ends off with an executive, Bentley feel at the rear, the new car looks remarkably similar to the Cars in Action July edition depiction.

This XJ intends to compete in the class segment led by the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S–Class and Audi A8 and with its new, sleeker style it could claim back some lost respect.

The new Jag is also said to feature a high-tech aerospace-inspired aluminum body architecture for the first time.

Power units will include a 202kW, 600Nm 3-litre twin turbo diesel and the 5-litre naturally aspirated V8. The XJR will probably make use of the 380kW used in the XFR but will have its power increased to compete with the likes of Merc’s S 63 AMG and the BMW 760i.
