German police give Force India scare

(GMM) Force India narrowly avoided disaster at the Nurburgring prior to morning practice on Friday, when local police knocked on the Silverstone based team's motor home door.

Adrian Sutil confirmed the incident, recalling the arrival of the green-clad German officers as he watched through the windows of the paddock building.

It is believed they were acting on behalf of a local marketing company over unpaid bills.

The police threatened seizing the Mercedes-powered cars or other equipment at the circuit, but team boss Vijay Mallya ultimately intervened and police departed satisfied the dispute had been settled.
