IRL snubs Foyt and all past IndyCar greats
IndyCar announcers said on today's IndyCar broadcast from Mid-Ohio that Scott Dixon is now the winningest driver in IndyCar history. Does that mean that Helio Castroneves is the winningest driver at Indy? So, do Al Unser, AJ Foyt and Rick Mears all lose their place in the record books? If the series really wants a unification, all of the records of all the "IndyCar" series through the years should be merged, like they said was going to happen when the two series were merged. Otherwise…where is the credibility?
For the record, AJ Foyt is the winningest driver in IndyCar history with 67 wins, followed by Mario Andretti with 52 and Michael Andretti with 42. A shocked Mark C. who learned that if you are the IRL even history can be rewritten
