However, if you are 8-seconds per lap off the pace in IndyCar, yes, you read that right 8-seconds per lap, but you are the 2nd most popular driver in the series because you are sexy, not because you can drive a hoot, IndyCar Series officials treat you with kid gloves.

Does the IRL want to grow and it's series and drivers be put on a pedestal as they once were when drivers like IndyCar Andretti, Foyt, Unser, Gurney , etc would go to NASCAR, F1 and sports cars and win the big races or even the F1 world title, or does it want to continue down the road to 0.14 TV ratings (i.e. lower than infomercials) and become the laughing stock of motorsports?

The IRL has no plans to revoke Milka Duno's driving license despite a plea from veteran driver Paul Tracy. Series chief steward Brian Barnhart said Tuesday that one bad race is not enough to merit a conversation. One bad race? Brian, are you serious? She has been a moving road block from day 1. Get real.

The subject came up after Duno struggled through last weekend's event at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. Tracy expressed his displeasure with Duno, in her third season in the series, in a Web site blog.

Barnhart said Duno has not drawn complaints from competitors at the five other races in which she has driven this season.

"She's done a good job in those and kept a competitive pace," he said. "She's earned her way into every event this season, and I think we're making a bigger deal (of Tracy's blog) than is necessary." That's because they have been oval races where it's 99.9% car and driver talent doesn't matter.

Barnhart acknowledged Duno did not have one of her better events at Mid-Ohio, and he sent league driver coach Al Unser Jr. to speak to her. Unser stressed keeping a respectable pace and maintaining a consistent driving line.
