Upgrades on track at MIS
On Aug. 26, the walls will come tumbling down at Michigan International Speedway. The old pit terrace and suites building and Joe Dowdall Media Center will be demolished by none other than Richard Childress Racing veteran Jeff Burton. He'll do it in a bulldozer.
By June 2010, a two-story, solar-powered media center and 31 deluxe suites will stand in place of the old buildings. Eventually the speedway will begin work on Phase Two, which will include an entertainment area for fans and fan-accessible garages and improved infield campsites.
