Shrinking Homestead crowd
10/11/09 A reader writes, I was watching this 1996 CART IndyCar race at Homestead, Florida. Look at the size of the crowd compared to what we saw at Homestead for the IRL IndyCar finale. Yesterday's attendance was about 1/4 of what CART got back in 1996 when it controlled the IndyCar series. Tell us one more time why CART was so bad and the IRL had to take over IndyCar Racing.
The people responsible for destroying the sport I love should be held accountable for what they did. Oh wait, Tony George was already fired. Why is he still allowed in the paddock at all? He should be run out of town along with all the minions he surrounded himself with. And where are all the new engine manufacturers they touted, or the series title sponsor? Mordichai Rosen P.S.
