Donington not confirming GP contract loss
(GMM) Despite Tuesday's final deadline, Donington Park is refusing to comment on reports it will now definitely not host the British grand prix.
The latest media statement issued by the Leicestershire venue last Friday was about the failure of its loans funding scheme for "F1 redevelopment".
That statement referred to a noon Monday deadline to "remedy a breach of contract" with Bernie Ecclestone "in order to keep any plans for retaining the … formula one contract alive".
F1 chief executive Ecclestone subsequently clarified that Tuesday was actually Donington's last chance, but circuit spokespeople refused to comment when contacted.
