Glock travelling to Abu Dhabi for 2010 talks
(GMM) Timo Glock will still make the journey to Abu Dhabi this week as the 2009 season concludes at the new Yas Marina Circuit.
Suffering from minor leg and spinal injuries, his Toyota cockpit will be filled by the Japanese rookie Kamui Kobayashi.
But, for the 27-year-old German, arguably more important than this weekend's racing will be the trackside negotiations with potential employers about the 2010 season.
Glock's manager Hans Bernd Kamps on Tuesday told the German news agency SID that he thinks he could finalise a deal for next year within the next 14 days.
Top of the list will be the talks with Renault about becoming Robert Kubica's new teammate, but it is also believed that Manor and Sauber are options for 2010.
"We had five prospective teams, and we negotiate seriously with three," Kamps said.
