Nationwide teams try out their new Car of Tomorrow at Talladega

NASCAR Nationwide Series teams are on the track today at Talladega Superspeedway for a one-day test session to try out the Nationwide version of the COT. Eight drivers are here giving the cars a shake down before they are introduced during a race for the first time next summer at Daytona.

These cars are different from the Cup COTs and the old Nationwide cars in a big way. The cars were redesigned to look more like what the manufacturers sell in the showroom. Dodge has brought the Challenger and Ford has the Mustang.

Unfortunately, Chevy decided to use the Impala instead of the Camaro and Toyota still has the same ole un-sexy Camry. So thumbs up to Ford and Dodge and thumbs down to Chevy and Toyota.

Drivers here are James Buescher, Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick and Kelly Bires in Chevys; Colin Braun and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in Fords; Trevor Bayne in a Toyota and Justin Allgaier driving the Dodge. Al.com
