Schumacher grabs No. 3
After agreeing to race for the Mercedes Grand Prix team this season, joining the team some time after they officially entered their team for the 2010 Formula One championship season, Michael Schumacher should have raced the year in car number four as teammate Nico Rosberg had already been registered with the FIA as driver of car number three.
However, it has now come to light that the seven time champion has an odd superstition, one that had never been mentioned in his countless interviews over his fifteen year Formula One career, and that is that he is wary of even numbered cars and ahs a preference for odd numbers.
Therefore, due to his dislike for even numbers, Michael asked if he could switch numbers with his younger teammate and the team and FIA approved the switch….
"Michael has a preference for odd numbers. He asked if he could be the odd number and we were happy to accept," Reuters quoted a Mercedes GP spokesperson as saying.
Therefore, Rosberg will now be the driver of car number four.
