Rahal on Wind Tunnel Sunday

The BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team is wrapping up its preparations for the 12 Hours of Sebring this week, as the team looks to get its American Le Mans Series campaign started with a strong performance in what is one of the world’s most prestigious sportscar events.

As part of the buildup to the highly-anticipated season opener, Rahal Letterman Racing co-owner and 1987 12 Hours of Sebring champion Bobby Rahal will appear Sunday on SPEED TV’s live racing show Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain to talk about the race and the BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team’s outlook on the event.

The team will run a pair of BMW M3s in the 12-hour event, with Dirk Müller, Tommy Milner, Bill Auberlen, Joey Hand, Dirk Werner and Andy Prialux sharing the driver duties. The 2010 season will be the second in ALMS competition for the BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team, and comes on the heels of a successful inaugural campaign that saw the team score a 1-2 finish at Road America, earn five other podiums and cap the year with a win in the Asian Le Mans Series event in Okayama.

An inductee into the Sebring Hall of Fame, Rahal is no stranger to the demands of the 12 Hours of Sebring. He won the 1987 race, partnering with Jochen Mass and was on pole in 1982 in the final year that the race was contested on the 5.2-mile layout.

The Wind Tunnel show will air on SPEED TV Sunday, March 14 from 9 – 10 p.m. Eastern Time and Rahal will be joining the show live from Sebring.

The 12 Hours of Sebring will take place Saturday, March 20 and can be seen live on SPEED TV.
