Webber says Red Bull were cruising

Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber has said team-mate Sebastian Vettel and him weren't racing on the limit on Sunday but had the luxury of saving their engines and tires as they were comfortably leading the race. He admits it would have been different though when Ferrari and McLaren started higher up the grid. "It was a luxury today, for Sebastian (Vettel) and I, not to have to kill the engines, kill the tires, kill everything because the gap to the other guys was more comfortable, no question about it," Webber said on Sunday evening. "But Nico (Rosberg) drove a good race, but I think there were some quicker guys, maybe particularly Lewis (Hamilton), who had a different day, starting at the back. Tactically the race could have been a little bit different if he was around, or Fernando (Alonso) or Felipe (Massa). I obviously didn't see how their race went. Obviously Fernando didn't finish at the end.

"As Jack Brabham used to say: 'win at the slowest possible speed.' One second or thirty seconds is the same result. We were very much in control of today's race. It's not always going to be like that but when it is, you have to make the most of it."
