(GMM) Lewis Hamilton has admitted his relationship with his father and former manager Anthony is currently "not all smiles and happiness".

At the McLaren driver's initiation, the pair split professionally earlier this year and Hamilton, 25, is currently seeking a long-term replacement as his manager.

Until the 2010 season opener, Anthony Hamilton had attended every race of his son's entire career, but Lewis admitted in Shanghai that they now rarely speak.

"I don't remember the last time I spoke with him, but it hasn't been for a couple of weeks," he is quoted as saying by British newspapers.

"We might exchange a message every now and then but we don't have too much to discuss at the moment.

"I don't think there is any friction but it's not all smiles and happiness. It's a big change, so it affects all of us," added Hamilton.
