Button fined for speeding

World Champion Jenson Button was handed with a fine after breaking the agreed speed limit in the Monaco Grand Prix pit lane on Thursday morning.

Reported by Formula 1 governing body the FIA nine minutes after the first free practice session had come to a close, McLaren driver Button was recorded travelling at a speed of 63.7km/h (40mph) in the pits 13 minutes before the checkered flag flew.

With the limit being 60km/h (37.3mph), Button was fined a total of €800 (£690). GPUpdate.net
