Hamilton will not race in Texas
Indy Racing League veteran Davey Hamilton will not compete in the Izod IndyCar Series race at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, as planned originally.
The 47-year-old, who failed to complete the opening lap in the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday after clashing with Tomas Scheckter, was to drive one more time this year for de Ferran Dragon Racing. However, because the small team left Indy with two torn-up cars, officials said they can’t get two ready for Texas. They did not have a backup at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, so they will work to get their primary driver, Raphael Matos, ready to go.
