NASCAR Sprint Cup hauler parade, festival set for July 22 in Speedway
The event takes place from 5-8:30 p.m., with live music featuring local country music act KJ & TKJ's kicking off activities at 5 p.m. at the corner of 15th and Main Streets – across the street from popular local restaurant Dawson's on Main.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series haulers – approximately 50 are expected – will arrive at 6 p.m. in parade fashion behind the 2010 Brickyard 400 Pace Car and park on Main Street from just south of 15th Street in two lines stretching to 10th Street.
A media pit stop competition, featuring local on-air personalities, is scheduled to get underway at 6:30 p.m.
Dawson's will have food and beverages available for purchase throughout the event, and parking will be available on Speedway town streets west of Main and also at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's gravel Main Gate Parking Lot, located on the south side of 16th Street east of the Speedway gas station.
Fans can also watch the haulers parade north on Main Street and east on 16th Street at 8 p.m., as they depart the Hauler Parade and Festival single-file and enter the Indianapolis Motor Speedway grounds for the Brickyard 400.
Practice for the 2010 Brickyard 400 takes place Friday afternoon, July 23, following a full morning of Chevy Day at the Brickyard events that feature autograph sessions and fan question-and-answer sessions with Chevrolet-sponsored drivers.
Qualifying and additional practice is set for July 24, and the 160-lap Brickyard 400 is scheduled for a 1 p.m. (ET) start on Sunday, July 25.
