Edwards to do post-race TV spot

Roush Fenway driver Carl Edwards will join ESPN’s NASCAR post-race coverage on its flagship program SportsCenter, starting this weekend after the Brickyard 400 at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Edwards be will a standing guest each week in the ESPN pit studio with host Allen Bestwick and analysts Rusty Wallace and Brad Daugherty after each of the 14 ESPN Sprint Cup races, offering an active driver’s perspective of the event.

“To be able to get out of the race car and immediately give the fans a driver’s perspective will be something new and different, and I’m looking forward to being a part of the ESPN team," said Edwards who has won 16 Sprint Cup races.

“The neat part about this is I’ll be getting out of the race car, walking straight down to the studio and giving my insight into the race. I think it will add a different dimension to the coverage, and I’m glad ESPN is giving me the opportunity to do this."

Edwards, who is currently 10th in the Sprint Cup point standings, is vying to make The Chase for the Sprint Cup for the fourth consecutive season. He is coming off his best finish of the season, a runner-up finish two weeks ago at Chicagoland.
