Schumacher fined for pit lane speeding

Michael Schumacher has received a fine of 1,000 euros (840 pounds) by Formula 1 governing body the FIA for speeding in the Hockenheim pit lane during Friday’s second free practice session.

The speed in question was recorded just two minutes into the 90-minute period, with the Mercedes driver clocked at 64.1km/h (39.8mph) when the practice speed limit is 60km/h (37.3mph).

The final sum of Schumacher’s fine is calculated as every kilometer over the limit equates to 200 euros, with the final 0.1km being rounded up.
