McMillan joins O2 Racing

O2 Racing announced Oct. 12 that veteran race engineer Dave McMillan has joined their team for the 2011 season.

McMillan, a native of New Zealand, has worked with drivers such as Jeff Simmons, Al Unser III, Phil Giebler, Marco Andretti, Jay Howard, Jonny Reid and Charlie Kimball in his seven years in Firestone Indy Lights and led his drivers to eight poles, eight wins and 23 podium.

"This action is part of O2 Racing's long-term focus on team," O2 Racing owner Mark Olson said.

“Motorsport is a team sport, and a team is a group of like-minded individuals who are all willing to do whatever it takes to build something bigger than themselves, individually. Getting Dave on board now for off-season testing and for the 2011 campaign is a key element of our approach to the 2011 championship."
