UPDATE ESPN’s live coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday, Oct. 24, earned a final national household coverage rating of 2.8 (2.4 U.S. rating), averaging 3,954,058 viewers, according to the Nielsen Company. Last year’s race aired on ABC and earned a final U.S. rating of 2.9, meaning this year's race was down 17.3%.
ESPN2’s live telecast of the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Gateway International Raceway near St. Louis on Saturday earned a final national household coverage rating of 1.1, averaging 1,386,547 viewers. The event at Gateway replaced a race held on the same weekend last year at now-closed Memphis Motorsports Park that earned a 0.9 final rating. ESPN PR
