Korea F3 Superprix cancelled
Staged on the streets of Changwon between 1999 and 2003, Macau organizer Barry Bland had seemingly brought the Korea F3 Superprix back this year although KAVO (Korea Auto Valley Operation, the country’s motorsport governing body) has now said that the occasion will not be happening due to so far undefined reasons.
“KAVO have had to cancel the Korea F3 Superprix due to Force Majeure," Bland explained. “We understand this is due to a legal technicality with the circuit, which appears to have been brought about by some objectors.
“It should be a temporary problem but that’s all we know at the moment. This is hugely disruptive and disappointing and it’s obvious that the cancellation will bring many associated problems; our priority is now to get everyone home quickly after the Macau event."
Hoping that the event does take place in 2011, Bland is now presented with the task of rearranging schedules, with a 30-car field having been expected for the race.
