What happened to all the talk of NASCAR gaining on the NFL?

A reader writes, Dear AutoRacing1.com, Three years ago the NASCAR 'groupie' cheerleaders (the media that covers NASCAR) were writing stories of how NASCAR has the 2nd highest TV ratings of all sports programming behind football and gaining. Now three years later, following three years of plummeting TV ratings under the dictatorship of Brian France, these cheerleaders are scratching their posteriors trying to figure out what happened? And now they don't have Jim Hunter to tell them what to write about every week. And we no longer hear anything about NASCAR's international expansion, and how they were going to conquer the world. The cheerleaders have finally been silenced and all is right again in the world of motorsports. Yehuda Rubenstein
