Jensen team to run Ostella in Indy Lights
The team is also pleased to announce the signing of talented young Canadian driver David Ostella to a long-term contract that will include driving one of our Indy Lights cars in the 2011 championship season.
Canada based Jensen MotorSport has a long storied history in North American open-wheel racing. During the past 15 years, the team has competed in championships including Firestone Indy Lights, the Atlantic Championship and Formula BMW Americas. Complementing our race competition, Jensen MotorSport has enjoyed considerable success with driver development, including training many of North America’s top young racing talents during the past 10 years.
David Ostella (19) is a terrific example of how the Road to Indy initiative is efficiently graduating young drivers up the racing ladder with view to their promotion to the top-level Izod IndyCar Championship. Ostella, from Toronto Canada, is set to graduate to Firestone Indy Lights competition after having raced in the 2009 and 2010 Star Mazda championships.
Jensen MotorSport team owner Eric Jensen states, “This is a very exciting new program involving some terrific people. David Ostella is a very fast and marketable race car driver. Our team has recently signed renowned race engineer Remi Lanteigne to quarterback our technical program, so together with David, we are enthusiastic about our new IndyCar initiative."
Jensen MotorSport is also pleased to announce Dipdive Network – www.dipdive.com – as a feature team partner for the 2011 racing season. Dipdive started with just one single video – will.i.am’s inspired Yes We Can 2008 montage based on Barack Obama's popular campaign slogan and New Hampshire speech. Since, California based Dipdive has grown into a leading-edge media network redefining artist/fan and content owner/consumer relationships through interactive connectivity.
The Firestone Indy Lights championship – www.indycar.com/fil – races together with the Izod IndyCar Championship beginning at St. Petersburg, Florida on the weekend of March 27. Indy Lights drivers compete in specially built Dallara race cars equipped with 420 horsepower engines and Firestone Firehawk racing tires. During the season, David Ostella will compete in many major markets across North America including Toronto, Montreal, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Boston, as well as at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway circuit as part of the world famous Indy 500 event.
