Trans-Am race added to VIR weekend
"The addition of SCCA Pro Trans-Am will give VIR fans a road racing weekend double header that can't be found anywhere else in the country right now," said Kerrigan Smith, Director of Track Operations for VIR. "What's even better is that there will be no increase in ticket prices. Fans will get to experience 17 turns of fender-to-fender road racing action with the best cars and drivers in the sport right here at VIRginia International Raceway."
On Saturday, spectators can enjoy the Bosch Engineering 250 for the Daytona Prototype & Grand Touring cars, which will be immediately followed by the Bosch Engineering 200 for the Grand Sport & Sport Tuner cars. The following day, the newly expanded SCCA Pro Trans-Am series will run, which will include for the first time at VIR additional entries from the SCCA GT2 & GTA and SCCA GT3 classes. These cars will be categorized as TA-2 and TA-3 respectively. The Sunday portion of this exciting race weekend will also include the Formula Enterprise, Spec Racer Ford and V8 Stock Car series for another full day of action.
Heavily discounted advance tickets are now available at www.VIRnow.com.
