Montezemolo not satisfied with Ferrari’s performance

Luca di Montezemolo has expressed his feelings over Ferrari’s low-key start to the 2011 Formula 1 season. Two races in, the Italian outfit lies third in the Constructors’ World Championship but with only half the points sum of leaders Red Bull Racing.

“I am certainly not happy with how the season has started but have extraordinary confidence in people who know how to react in difficult circumstances," company Chairman di Montezemolo explained, with leading team personalities having travelled back to Italy as opposed to China directly.

“I know they are working hard and I have complete faith in both the human and technical elements of our personnel. I think the period of hoping for podium finishes will be over soon.

Furthermore, the 63-year-old was surprised by FIA race stewards’ decision to penalize both Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton for their coming together in Malaysia on Sunday. “Let's not exaggerate," he began to sum up. “I didn’t see anything unusual from either of them."
