Sonoma open test today

Race fans will be treated to a free preview of the Indy® Grand Prix of Sonoma today, as 11 race teams from the IZOD IndyCar® Series will take part in a one-day test session at Infineon Raceway.

The test is being held in advance of the series’ only visit to Northern California for the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma, Aug. 26-28. This marks the seventh consecutive year of INDYCAR racing in the Sonoma Valley, and the track has seen six different winners over the past six years.

Race fans will be admitted FREE to the test session, which will span from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. They will be allowed to watch the test session from the main grandstand, wander around the paddock and attend the noon press conference (space permitting). The Raceway Café will also be open for lunch.

Fans will also be treated to FREE Pit Tours during the test from 10:30-noon and 1-2:30 p.m. Please meet at the Wine Country Winner’s Circle for the Pit Tours; you must be 18 years old for the tours. Space on the tours is limited.
