Conway, Front Row settle lawsuits
Front Row had sued for $3.6 million, including $2.754 million in sponsorship fees, it alleged was owed by Conway, Conway’s company and Extenze for the 2010 season. Conway drove 21 races for the team from February-August 2010.
Conway had also filed complaints against Front Row for about $340,000 in salary, purse money and rookie program money he alleged he was owed.
A trial in the controversy was scheduled for this week in North Carolina Superior Court in Charlotte, but after hearings for summary judgment, the sides settled, McGee said Wednesday.
“These parties have all now washed their hands of each other and taking full dismissals [of the cases]," McGee said. “The parties have resolved the case in a way that the defendants were not paying money to Front Row. Neither is paying anything."
Conway’s marketing company had secured the Extenze sponsorship and then he negotiated a deal worth $5.4 million with Front Row to drive for the team in 2010.
A Front Row Motorsports spokesman said the team had no comment. Scenedaily.com
