Coletti: I was close to being paralyzed
Stefano Coletti has revealed that he escaped paralysis by a narrow margin after his crash in the Saturday GP2 Feature Race at Spa.
While approaching Pouhon corner in wet conditions, Coletti’s Trident car was launched over the back of Mikhail Aleshin’s Carlin before making contact with the Armco barrier. With a destroyed floor, Coletti retired from the race in the run-off area.
“In the end no operation for now," the Monegasque driver said via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon. “My back is getting better, but the doctor today told me that I was very close to being paralyzed!"
It has already been confirmed that the 22-year-old will miss the GP2 season finale at Monza next weekend.
