Truck Race from Martinsville Scores Double-Digit Ratings Increase

According to Nielsen Media Research, Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on SPEED from Martinsville scored a 0.82, up 19-percent with HH over last year’s equivalent Martinsville race (0.69).

The Martinsville race marked the sixth year-to-year ratings increase in the past seven Truck Series races. The event also saw an increase of 58-percent among M35-54 (0.71 vs. 0.45) and 40-percent among M18-49 (0.42 vs. 0.30).

When compared to last year’s equivalent-date race at Texas Motor Speedway, the Martinsville race was up 12-percent (0.82 vs. 0.73) with HH, 13-percent among M35-54 (0.71 vs. 0.63) and 27-percent among M18-49 (0.42 vs. 0.33). The network’s pre-race show, NCWTS Setup with Krista Voda, scored a 0.63 from Martinsville, up 58-percent from last year’s 0.40.

With two races remaining in the 2011 season, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is pacing up five-percent overall versus last year at this point (0.82 vs. 0.78). The series heads to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend with four drivers locked in a tight battle for the championship. Texas native James Buescher trails points leader Austin Dillon by only 11 points, followed by four-time champion Ron Hornaday and Johnny Sauter in a tie for third (-15 to Dillon).
