Earnhardt Ganassi Racing makes changes to NASCAR Sprint Cup program

Earnhardt Ganassi Racing has confirmed that Steve Hmiel, Tony Glover and Ed Nathman have been released from the NASCAR Sprint Cup organization. Hmiel was the competition director for the team while long-time employee Glover was the team manager. Nathman was the lead engineer before John Probst was named technical director earlier this season.

Juan Pablo Montoya and Jamie McMurray drive the organization's entries in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Both drivers were winless in 2011, with Montoya finishing 21st in the standings and McMurray 27th. [Montoya, a great driver with enormous talent, is essentially a backmarker in Ganassi's Cup cars. Sad, very sad, to see.] Fox Sports
