HPD adds Black Swan Racing

The U.S.-based Black Swan Racing team has joined the roster of outfits running Honda Performance Development engines and chassis in the Le Mans Prototype classes in 2012.

Black Swan is moving up to the LMP2 class in the American Le Mans Series after winning the GT Challenge-class championship for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car for the past two seasons. It will run a former Level 5 Motorsports Lola B11/80 powered by HPD's twin-turbo V6 powerplant, driven by team owner Tim Pappas and regular teammate Jeroen Bleekemolen.

Black Swan joins Level 5 in LMP2 in the ALMS. Last year's P2 champion team is fielding HPD machinery, having upgraded the two ARX-01g chassis it purchased last year to ARX-03b specification.

The Muscle Milk squad, a front-runner in LMP1 last year with a Lola-Aston Martin coupe, completes the HPD lineup in the ALMS with a P1 ARX-03a.

Three HPDs are entered for the new FIA World Endurance Championship. The British JRM Racing and Strakka.
