Spanish GP: Alonso and Ferrari surprise in Practice 1

It appears the changes Ferrari has made to their F1 car between Bahrain and Barcelona have worked as Fernando Alonso turned the fastest la in opening practice for the Spanish Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel was second in the Red Bull ahead of the Sauber of Kamui Kobayashi.

American Alexander Rossi showed his potential in his very first F1 outing by posting the 21st best time in the Caterham Renault, two spots back from the team's regular driver Vitaly Petrov.
