HOF exhibit to highlight NASCAR’s biggest asset – Dramatic Crashes
The exhibit, entitled “Wrecks: Dramatic Crashes of NASCAR," will be unveiled to the media at 10 a.m. on Friday.
According to a press release from the Hall of Fame, the exhibit will “explore the breath-taking, inevitable aspect of racing through historic collisions, multimedia and authentic artifacts that demonstrate how competitors and their equipment are pushed to the limit and beyond."
Cup drivers Phil Parsons and Geoff Bodine will be on hand to talk about crashes they walked away from, while former driver Brett Bodine, now NASCAR’s director of competition for research and development, will talk about the safety advancements NASCAR has made.
Sunday’s race at Talladega featured a last-lap crash that collected 24 cars. Tony Stewart’s car got airborne during the crash, flipping and rolling over the top of other cars.
