Rolex 24: Hour 1 Standings see Ganassi BMWs 1-2
Click anywhere in standings below to see more…..Scott Pruett led after the first hour of the 51st Rolex 24 at Daytona as the field cycled through pit stops in a caution-free opening 60 minutes at Daytona International Raceway. Pruett, who started from pole position, had his No. 01 TELMEX/Target Chip Ganassi BMW/Riley nearly nine seconds ahead of teammate Scott Dixon. Michael Valiante in the No. 6 Michael Shank Racing Ford/Riley was 18 seconds back of Pruett. Meanwhile the defending Rolex 24 champion No. 60 Michael Shank Racing entry lost seven laps with a broken tie rod.
In GT, Andy Lally led for defending champion Magnus Racing in the No. 44 Porsche 911 GT3. He was 1.274 seconds clear of Filipe Albuquerque in the No. 24 Alex Job Racing Audi R8 GRAND-AM. Anthony Lazzaro ran third in the No. 69 AIM Autosport Ferrari 458.
Shane Lewis and the pole-sitting No. 16 Porsche Napleton Racing Porsche Cayman led GX by 34 seconds over Darryl O’Young in the No. 22 Bullet Racing Porsche.
