Gloomy Weather and Hot Speeds at Indy
This is Indy, the place where every race fan becomes a meteorologist for a few days. National weather forecasts called for partly sunny skies with scattered thunderstorms during the day, but currently it's drizzling. It takes 2-3 hours to dry the track, so we're done until afternoon, at least.
What that means, of course, is nearly perfect weather for Pole Day. No driver broke the 230 mph mark in practice, but Will Power came close at 229.808. Teammate AJ Allmendinger was a tenth of a second slower.
