IndyCar touches down
IndyCar officials arrived at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport on Wednesday for this Sunday’s Pocono IndyCar 400 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond.
Pocono Raceway CEO Brandon Igdalsky offered remarks welcoming IndyCar back to the region as airport board chair Tim McGinley, Luzerne County Manager Robert Lawson, Lackawanna County Commissioner Jim Wansacz, and Gov. Corbett's field representative Bill Goldsworthy looked on during a ceremony at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International airport.
Festivities get underway Thursday with a testing session from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, featuring all cars entered in the race. The session is open for fans to attend for free.
Friday is a down day. Qualifying will be held 1:15 p.m. on Saturday and the race is scheduled for noon on Sunday.
