Toronto race making a strong comeback
Just five years ago, there was no Indy car race in Toronto. If not for the work of Michael Andretti to bring it back, there still might not be.
Now, to a man, the Indy car fraternity feels the Toronto race once again is becoming one of the marquee events in the series.
“The bleachers were full. Even on the back straight in the trees, there was a ton of people sitting on the grass. I hadn’t seen that for a long time," Dixon said.
“It has really come back. It seems to be as popular as it ever was. I really think that the crowds this weekend, whether it was due to the weather being so nice, most of the stands were packed. There were people everywhere."
Hinchcliffe agreed,
“I could feel the support and the love even from inside the car," he said.
