Lotus scraps new chassis for Monza
Lotus will not use its long-wheelbase car for the remainder of the Monza weekend, with the risk of running a new design outweighing potential performance gains.
Kimi Räikkönen tested the chassis during Friday practice, posting an identical time to team-mate Romain Grosjean in the normal E21. The Finn later said "it doesn't feel much different" and that a decision over its continued use would be data-based.
With issues a possibility as the weekend develops, the Enstone-based team has opted against racing it and will instead look towards trialing it again at future races.
