Toyota looks to increase power in engines
"Hands down, the folks over at the Hendrick shop have done a great job this year, and they've got an edge, not just on us but the others as well. We're happy with our reliability. The funny thing about the sports, we finished second, third and fourth at the Brickyard (three weeks ago) no less. The past couple of races have been frustrating for us and for the drivers." JGR and Michael Waltrip Racing, the two primary Toyota teams, use TRD engines in Cup.
"We all work (together) on every single part of the race team and the cars," JGR owner Joe Gibbs said about his team's effort with TRD and the lack of horsepower. "For whatever reason, we got off to a bad start this year. … We're trying to close hard and trying to put ourselves in a good position. We've got some good updates coming in the motor, and so hopefully we get hot at the right time. We've been behind." Sporting News and FoxSports
