Chase Elliott on Charlotte Nationwide Pole

NASCAR Nationwide Series points leader Chase Elliott won the pole for Friday night's Drive For The Cure 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The 19-year-old rookie turned in a lap of 181.354 mph in the no.9 Chevrolet Camaro for JR Motorsports, collecting his second-career pole position.

Matt Kenseth was second with a lap of180.977mph, followed by Brian Scott (180.898), Elliott Sadler (180.850) and Kyle Busch (180.826).

Regan Smith, currently second in the series points standings, qualified 22nd, while third-place points driver Ty Dillon rolls off 11th.

Jimmy Weller, Ryan Ellis, Matthew Carter, Morgan Shepherd and Mike Harmon failed to qualify for the event
