NASCAR Martinsville TV Rating

ESPN's live telecast of the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday, Oct. 26, earned a 2.5 'final' U.S. household rating, averaging 4,083,000 viewers, according to Nielsen Media.

The rating and viewership numbers were down from last year's race, which earned a 2.7 rating and averaged 4,316,000 viewers, but were up from the 2012 race, which earned a 2.4 rating with an average of 3,617,000 viewers.

Greensboro, N.C., the closest metered market to Martinsville, led the nation with a 7.8 rating for the telecast, followed by Greenville, S.C., at 7.5 and Nashville, Tenn., at 5.9. Indianapolis was fourth at 5.8 with Knoxville, Tenn., fifth at 5.7.

The top 10 metered markets were rounded out by Tampa-St. Petersburg, 5.4; Richmond, Va., 5.3; Birmingham, Ala., 5.2; Orlando, Fla., 5.0; and a tie for 10th between Norfolk, Va., and Raleigh-Durham, N.C., at 4.9.
