Daly’s check still not big enough

Daly's check still not big enough to buy an IndyCar ride as the cancer afflicting open wheel racing continues unabated

Question: What's the latest on Conor Daly? I was surprised when he wasn't part of Foyt's second-car announcement. He would be a good addition to the IndyCar Series. (Dave, Lima, Ohio)

Curt Cavin/Indy Star: Yes, he'd be a great addition, and he's met with potential sponsors as recently as last night. But he doesn't have a deal yet, and I don't get the sense that he's close. I wouldn't worry though; remember, it's only Nov. 4, and it feels like time is running out only because the 2014 season ended so early. There's still plenty of time, and I'm hopeful for him even though there aren't a lot of seats left to fill.
