Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana signs Ochsner Hospital

The Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana announces a three-year deal with Ochsner Health System to serve as the Official Health Care Partner for the international race event at NOLA Motorsports Park. In addition, The Racing For Kids Foundation will also act as the inaugural event's Official Charity.

With over 15,000 employees, Ochsner Health System is southeast Louisiana's largest non-profit, academic, multi-specialty, healthcare delivery system. Ochsner's coordinated clinical and hospital patient care is provided across the region by 13 hospitals, both owned and managed, and more than 40 health centers in Louisiana.

"Being involved in IndyCar racing for over 25 years with my foundation, Racing for Kids, I have seen the positive impact the races have brought to each community," said Dr. William Pinsky, Chief Academic Officer, Ochsner Health System. "Ochsner, the major health provider in the region, is proud and excited to partner with Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana as the on-site healthcare provider for this event."

Since the inception of Racing For Kids, the charity has donated more than $6 million to the hospitals it visits and other deserving healthcare institutions and organizations devoted to the care of children. During the three-day weekend event, April 10-12, 2015, at NOLA Motorsports Park, drivers will visit Ochsner Hospital for Children on behalf of Racing For Kids and donate their time to meet with young patients.

"We are very pleased and excited to have Ochsner Health System and there first-class facilities as a major sponsor of the inaugural Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana," said Kristen Ponthier Engeron, President of NOLA Motorsports Park. "We're very appreciative to Warner Thomas and his entire staff at Ochsner for recognizing the value in this partnership and the visibility it will give the State of Louisiana"
