Sonoma Raceway 2015 tickets on sale

Following last week's release of its 2015 major events season, again highlighted by NASCAR, NHRA and IndyCar, Sonoma Raceway, Northern California’s premier motorsports destination, started ticket sales to the general public yesterday.

Sonoma Raceway’s major events schedule will again open and close with motorsports history as the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival kicks off the 2015 season on May 30 and 31, and the Classic Sports Racing Group's Charity Challenge will be the finale on Oct. 3 and 4.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will hold its 110-lap Toyota/Save Mart 350 weekend – the Valley’s largest attended motorsports event – on June 26 to 28.

The road-course event, using NASCAR's popular elimination-style qualifying format first introduced in 2014, has become one of the most exciting and unpredictable races each year, with 10 different winners over the past 10 years.

Also on tap for the weekend will be the 64-lap NASCAR Pro Series West.

The fastest sport on earth returns to Sonoma Raceway for back-to-back weekends of the world's best drag racing on the Valley's famous drag strip, highlighted by the NHRA’s 28th annual Sonoma Nationals running July 31 to Aug. 2, with three full days of action, including Friday night qualifying under the lights.

Preceding the Sonoma Nationals weekend will be the NHRA’s annual Division 7 Drag Races, presented by Korbel, which will take place from July 24 to 26.

For the first time in its history, the Verizon IndyCar Series championship will be decided on a road course, with IndyCar's 11th annual GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma weekend slated for Aug. 28 to 30.

The IndyCar event will also mark the first time the Valley’s renown 12-turn, 2.38-mile road course has concluded a major motorsports series season.
