Conway to Race in WEC Finale

Mike Conway will return to World Endurance Championship action this week, as he looks to help the #7 Toyota Racing TS040 Hybrid win its second race in a row.

Mike had not initially been scheduled to race for Toyota this weekend in Brazil. However Japanese driver Kazuki Nakajima suffered an issue with his visa application and Conway was more than happy to step into the role in his capacity as test and reserve driver and keep the Bahrain winning team together.

This will be a second WEC race in a row for Conway, who played a key role in helping the #7 pick it up its first win of the year in Bahrain. Conway showed searing speed throughout his stint, recording the car’s fastest lap of the race.

The win in Bahrain gave Conway the enviable accomplishment of being the only driver to record victories in both the WEC and IndyCar Series – where he won two races – this season.

Going into the final WEC race, Mike was looking forward to getting back into the #7 Toyota saying, “I really enjoyed racing in Bahrain, and am delighted to be asked to race again in Brazil. The team put in a great performance last time out and hopefully we will repeat that success in Sao Paulo, but we know it will be tough as everyone will be looking to end the season well."

Mike will once again team up with Alex Wurz and Stephane Sarrazin in what will be the final race of the WEC season. The trio will be hoping to continue their winning form and end the season on a high.
