Dodge Ram pickup trucks recalled for rear axle problems

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has recently issued a massive recall for the Dodge Ram pickup trucks because of some problems spotted in the rear axle.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has investigated, six months ago, the Dodge Ram pickup trucks, from the model year 2005. After this has ended, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles had to issue a recall for the models in question because of a problem with the rear axle. According to the car manufacturer, owners of the 2005 Dodge Ram pickup trucks will have to take a trip back to the dealers in order to get this issue solved.

According to the NHTSA, there is a problem with a loose pinion nut, which can cause the rear axle to seize and to detach the driveshaft. The affected vehicles are from the 2005 model year and they have been produced between January, 2004, and August, 2005. The total number of affected pickup trucks is 280,000 units, out of which 257,000 have been sold in the United States market. The recall is believed to begin on the 13th of February. For more details on the subject, owners should contact their local dealership.
