McDowell leads P2

With a lap of 199.322 miles per hour, Michael McDowell put the #95 Thrivent Financial Ford atop the time sheets in final practice before Coors Lights Daytona 500 Qualifying tomorrow. Two-time Daytona 500 winner Jimmie Johnson was second, two-thousandths of a second slower than McDowell in the #48 Lowe's Chevrolet.

Richard Childress Racing rookie Ty Dillon was third, with Kasey Kahne fourth and Jeff Gordon fifth. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was sixth making it four Hendrick Motorsports cars in the top-6.

Toyota-powered cars seemed to particularly struggle with Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin the lead Camry in 16th place, three-tenths slower than McDowell. Only 4 Toyotas were amongst the top-30.
