God shines down on NASCAR

A reader writes, Dear AR1.com, So Jeff Gordon won the pole for the Daytona 500, or did he win in it January when he announced his retirement? Hell, I'll bet the t-shirts were already in Daytona so the Goobers can pounce by Tuesday. Can miss a buck or a feel good story. RJ Thompson

Dear RJ, Are you insinuating that NASCAR's grids are computer generated? Are you saying that rookie Loy Allen Jr's Daytona 500 pole in 1994, then never leading a lap, was determined by the pre-programmed NASCAR timing & scoring computers? Are you saying that when Dodge returned to NASCAR in 2001 their 1-2 start in the Daytona 500, then dropping to the back in the race, was fixed as a thank you for returning to the sport? Are you saying that Danica Patrick's pole in 2013 was a hoax to generate a week of free PR for NASCAR (ditto for Jeff Gordon this year)? Are you saying the 'chosen one' (Austin Dillon's) pole last year was generated by the NASCAR timing and scoring computers? Are you saying everything happens in NASCAR for a reason? NASCAR would never do that. God blesses NASCAR to help them get good PR and increase attendance and ratings. They pray before each race and that does not go unnoticed in his eyes. AR1 Staff
