For the second straight year, FOX Sports' BASH AT THE BEACH celebrates the start of another heart-pounding race season on the sands of Daytona Beach on the eve of the sport’s biggest race of the year, the DAYTONA 500.
DAYTONA 500 BASH AT THE BEACH is a one-hour prime-time special airing Saturday, Feb. 21 (9:00 PM ET) on FOX broadcast network, the night before the Great American Race. Sponsored by Budweiser and Geico, tickets are free and distributed locally through various on-site sponsor activations and promotions. The event is hosted by NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES driver Clint Bowyer and co-hosted by FOX Sports' Jamie Little, Molly McGrath and Jenny Taft.
Musical performances are highlighted by 2015 Grammy nominee Little Big Town and feature 2013 American Music Awards "New Artist of the Year" nominee and American Idol winner Phillip Phillips. The enormity of the weekend is showcased by appearances and interviews with several NASCAR SPRINT CUP drivers including former NASCAR champions Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, Kasey Kahne, AJ Allmendinger, Austin Dillon and a galaxy of VIP guests. A light recap of storylines from last season is sprinkled throughout the program during which 2014 NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES champion Kevin Harvick giving UFC top contender Donald “Cowboy" Cerrone a ride around Daytona International Speedway at adrenaline-inducing speeds that surpass anything Cerrone has faced inside the Octagon.
“The DAYTONA 500 BASH AT THE BEACH is a great way to kick off the NASCAR season and brings the excitement of Daytona to a whole new level," said Mike Sundet, Vice President of Sports & Entertainment marketing, Anheuser-Busch.
"Similar to other marquee sporting events on FOX, with the support of our advertisers and NASCAR, we’re using BASH AT THE BEACH to spotlight the greatest weekend in motorsports," said Neil Mulcahy, Executive Vice President sales, FOX Sports. “We took away some lessons from last year’s inaugural BASH AT THE BEACH and are applying a few tweaks to this year’s event. Overall, we have a great weekend of programming to celebrate the start of the 2015 NASCAR season."
